GiveNKind Policies

GiveNKind provides access to quality, new goods to help nonprofit organizations stretch their budgets. In 2023, GiveNKind saved nonprofits14.2 million dollars. We are pleased to be a resource to businesses and nonprofits to fill the needs of our communities.

Use of Goods

Goods are for the direct benefit of your nonprofit’s clients and related to the charitable mission of your organization. Items may not be sold, bartered or exchanged, or used for fundraising purposes (e.g. silent auctions or raffles). Products may not be given to volunteers or employees for personal use.

Admin Fees

GiveNKind charges a small administrative fee (admin fee) to support our program of recovering and redistributing resources in the community. While products are donated by our corporate partners to GiveNKind, we incur expenses to transport, store and redistribute goods. Admin fees cover a portion of our programs; GiveNKind fundraises through grants, events, and campaigns to keep admin fees low for our nonprofit partners.

Order Payment

Payment by credit card, PayPal, or gift card is due at the time the order is placed.

Order Pick Up or Delivery

Organizations are expected to schedule a pick up appointment or delivery at the time the order is placed. Delivery is available for an additional fee. Pick up appointments should be within two weeks of placing your order.

Orders not picked up within two weeks of the order date will be restocked and your account will be credited with the invoice amount.

Please email contact@givenkind.org if you have an emergency and are unable to make your appointment. Organizations that miss their pick up appointments more than three times may have their account suspended.

Order Accuracy

GiveNKind does its best to make sure that our catalog is accurate with clear product descriptions and inventory. However, if an error occurs and we are unable to fulfill part of your order, a refund will be issued for the missing product. Please review your order with a GiveNKind employee or volunteer at pick-up to ensure that it is complete. You will be asked to sign the order slip acknowledging receipt of your order.

GiveNKind Partners

Our nonprofit partners are integral to helping us move products from where they aren’t needed to where they are. We respect the work that you do under challenging circumstances and expect the same in return. GiveNKind reserves the right to terminate a partnership with a nonprofit organization for any reason, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Unprofessional or belligerent behavior towards GiveNKind volunteers or staff;
  • Failure to pay any fees assessed or invoice(s) issued by GiveNKind, within the time period specified at the time of such orders(s);
  • Misuse of goods (see Use of Goods); or
  • Failure to contact GiveNKind if there is a change in your organization’s nonprofit status.

Working Together

GiveNKind is able to accept product donations in Illinois on behalf of your organization if you need freight-level delivery or if the donation is too large for your organization. Your organization receives the quantity you need, leaving the excess to GiveNKind to distribute through our nonprofit partners. Please email emily@givenkind.org to discuss arrangements.
